Seg\u00fan un nuevo estudio cient\u00edfico publicado en Scientific Reports, la respuesta puede ser afirmativa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Investigadores de la Universidad de Buenos Aires han investigado, en condiciones de laboratorio, si las abejas son capaces de reconocer el polen contaminado con peque\u00f1as dosis de pesticidas, concretamente glifosato e imidacloprid.<br>Las abejas reci\u00e9n emergidas se criaron en jaulas donde se les suministr\u00f3 jarabe de az\u00facar est\u00e1ndar y dos muestras de polen de diversas especies vegetales -tanto silvestres como cultivadas, incluida la colza-, una contaminada y otra sin contaminar.<br>Las abejas mostraron una menor preferencia por el polen contaminado. El consumo disminuy\u00f3 entre 10% y 23% en el caso del glifosato, y entre 12% y 20% para el imidacloprid.<br>Los resultados sugieren que las abejas pueden detectar y, al menos parcialmente, evitar el polen contaminado. Esto hace albergar esperanzas de que tal comportamiento pueda representar una estrategia de defensa natural contra la contaminaci\u00f3n ambiental.<br>Sin embargo, el problema de los pesticidas sigue siendo grave. Incluso en condiciones controladas de laboratorio, las abejas no evitaron por completo el polen contaminado.
