Mas ser\u00e1 que as abelhas conseguem efetivamente evitar as flores contaminadas? De acordo com um novo estudo cient\u00edfico publicado na revista Scientific Reports, a resposta pode ser sim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Investigadores da Universidade de Buenos Aires investigaram, em condi\u00e7\u00f5es laboratoriais, se as abelhas s\u00e3o capazes de reconhecer o p\u00f3len contaminado com pequenas doses de pesticidas, especificamente glifosato e imidaclopride.<br>As abelhas rec\u00e9m-emergidas foram criadas em gaiolas onde lhes foi fornecido xarope de a\u00e7\u00facar normal e duas amostras de p\u00f3len de v\u00e1rias esp\u00e9cies de plantas - tanto selvagens como cultivadas, incluindo colza - uma contaminada e outra n\u00e3o contaminada.<br>As abelhas mostraram uma menor prefer\u00eancia pelo p\u00f3len contaminado. O consumo diminuiu entre 10% e 23% no caso do glifosato, e entre 12% e 20% no caso do imidaclopride.<br>Os resultados sugerem que as abelhas conseguem detetar e, pelo menos parcialmente, evitar o p\u00f3len contaminado. Este facto faz com que se espere que este comportamento possa representar uma estrat\u00e9gia de defesa natural contra a contamina\u00e7\u00e3o ambiental.<br>No entanto, o problema dos pesticidas continua a ser grave. Mesmo em condi\u00e7\u00f5es laboratoriais controladas, as abelhas n\u00e3o evitaram completamente o p\u00f3len contaminado.
