El aumento de las importaciones de miel en EE. UU.

People in the United States are consuming more honey, while domestic production is declining due to losses of honey bee colonies. In April 2025, U.S. beekeepers lost about half of their hives. As a result, honey imports have increased. According to data from the USDA, reported by Briefs Financial, U.S. honey imports reached 562 million pounds (255,000 tons), accounting for approximately 74% of the country’s total honey supply. Just a few countries dominate these imports, supplying about 80% of the total volume: India accounts for 39% of imports, followed by Argentina (23%), Brazil (11%), and Vietnam (6%).

This situation raises concerns about the future of U.S. beekeeping and the honey market.
