The Hungarian National Beekeepers’ Association OMME has sent a letter to Bóna Szabolcs, Minister of Agriculture and Food Economy, drawing attention to the exceptional situation caused by the extreme weather conditions experienced during the summer of 2026. According to professional experience, approximately 80% of Hungary’s bee colonies have had little or no access to natural pollen for several weeks. As a result of the present situation, significant bee colony losses are expected by spring 2027. The Association has also requested that, if possible, payments of the 2025 animal welfare support be made as early as possible to help the bee farms.
