On September 17, more than 500 scientists from a wide range of disciplines and from many EU countries signed an open letter addressed to the European Parliament and its President, Roberta Metsola, calling for the temporary suspension of the new European regulations on food safety, agriculture, and animal feed, as also reported by Apimondia.

However, the EU Council has since set its position on the remaining part of the “Omnibus X” simplification package.

Therefore, on October 1, 14 international organisations and 8 national organisations published their position on the draft parliamentary report and tabled amendments concerning the Food and Feed Safety Omnibus.
