Welcoming Veronica Manara and Lauriane Mariamé to the Apimondia team

On Monday 21 September 2026, Veronica Manara and Lauriane Mariamé joined the Apimondia Office in Rome. Their arrival strengthens our team and will allow Apimondia to improve the services and support offered to its members, the Scientific and Regional Commissions and the wider international beekeeping community.

Both already know Apimondia well. They worked with the General Secretariat on the B-THENET European project, which closed last August and supported the General Assembly sessions, the first B-THENET Beekeepers’ Meeting and the Apimondia stand at the 49th Apimondia Congress in Copenhagen last year.

Lauriane is from Belgium and holds master’s degrees in International Relations and Economic Development and in European Interdisciplinary Studies. She worked in the B-THENET coordination team and has previous experience with FAO, UNIDO, the European Economic and Social Committee and other international institutions. She speaks French, English, Spanish and Italian.

Veronica is from Italy and holds a BSc (Hons) in Animal Behaviour. She worked as researcher at the Italian Animal Health Institute, where she was part of the B-THENET coordination team and has co-authored nine scientific publications, including a chapter of the FAO publication “Good beekeeping practices for sustainable apiculture”. She speaks English and Italian.

In the coming months, their work will help Apimondia to:

  • make presentations and knowledge from previous Apimondia Congresses more easily accessible online;
  • organise regular webinars and online activities for the members and the Apimondia Commissions;
  • strengthen communication with members and support the Scientific and Regional Commissions;
  • provide more efficient administrative and association support;
  • continue the digitalisation of our archives and congress proceedings and
  • prepare the Apimondia Congress in Dubai in 2027 and identify new projects.

They are currently undergoing an induction stage and will be fully operational soon.

We warmly welcome them to the Apimondia family and they can be reached at apimondia@mclink.it.
