A new project, supported by Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR), aims to strengthen beekeeping in Fiji.
Led by Southern Cross University, in partnership with the Fiji Ministry of Agriculture, the Fiji Beekeepers Association, University of Adelaide, and Talanoa Consulting, the project aims to increase production and strengthen the value of the entire sector.
With funding of approximately USD 1.2 million, the four-year project will also involve the tilapia sector to support fishers – another coniderable food industry in the islands. The initiative will achieve its objectives through market-driven demonstration value chains, product development, agribusiness mentoring, and group learning activities.
