FAO has just published a new manual, for its animal production and health series, about the methods for disinfection and eradication of diseased honey bees.

Honey bee colonies are susceptible to infection or infestation by a range of parasites, pests and pathogens, including insects, mites, fungi, viruses and bacteria.

The aim of this book is to provide an overview of current knowledge and best practices regarding the stamping out of honey bee colonies. This is a guide to support veterinarians, competent authorities and technical advisers involved in bee health management, covering both the euthanasia of colonies and for disinfection of beekeeping equipment.
