Beeswax is the second most important bee products after honey. Its commercial importance is due to its antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic as well as regenerative properties. A scientific review – recently published in the journal Food Macromolecules – reports all the properties of the beeswax and its biochelmical and analitic characteristics, focused on its nutritional, cosmetic, industrial, and pharmaceutical uses.
