In Memory of Ingrid H. Williams

Almost one year ago, Ingrid Helvie Williams passed away suddenly at the age of 78, after dedicating 39 years of her life to the study of bees. She joined the Department of the Rothamsted Experimental Station in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, UK, where, since 1968, she worked on the cross-pollination, biology, and physiology of bees and was involved in many international projects and initiatives.

Her friend and colleague, Norman Carreck, remembered her in an article published in Bee World, recently featured on the magazine’s website.

We would also like to remember this important bee scientist by sharing the full text of the article here.
