Kazakhstan significantly increased its honey exports in 2025, as reported by The Times of Central Asia. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, exports reached 1,477 tons, up from 603 tons in 2024, more than doubling in one year. The main destination was Uzbekistan, which received about 85.6% of total exports. Other countries as well as Canada, China, Saudi Arabia, Russia, USA, imported Kazakh honey, and Oman imported it for the first time. At the same time, honey imports fell from 1,663 tons in 2024 to 262 tons in 2025, indicating stronger domestic production. Kazakhstan produces around 5,000 tons of honey annually. A result that reflects the strengthening of the beekeeping sector, also supported by national authorities through subsidies and new legislation to strengthen breeding programs and boost competitiveness in global markets.
