Abelhas-rainhas Canárias Negras para Lanzarote

Lanzarote, one of the islands of the Canary Archipelago, has received a shipment of Black Canarian queen bees from La Palma, another island in the same archipelago. These bees, also known as Canarian dark bees, are the native honey bee subspecies of the Canary Islands.
As reported by the local magazine Gazette Life, the delivery is the result of a collaborative effort between public institutions and beekeeping organizations to provide purebred Canarian bees to the island’s beekeepers.

In Lanzarote there are12 active beekeepers managing more than 300 hives, as well as the Lanzarote Beekeepers’ Association, which will manage the new queen bees at the island’s Experimental Agricultural Farm.
