Сардиния: климатические изменения влияют на пчеловодство

Climatic change has a deep impact on honey bees and beekeeping, especially in particular environmental conditions, such as in Mediterranean areas. A problem become severe in Sardinia, one of the major Italian islands, where heat waves represent a lethal danger for honey bee colonies for the last three years. This summer temperatures reached 48.4°C, the highest temperature ever registered in Italy. Extreme heat not only reduces honey production, but can also cause honeycombs to melt inside the hive, leading to the death of the colony, as has happened over the past three years. So the beekeeper are raising the alarm and asking stronger measures for this situation.
