This is the development program planned by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. To date, the country has around 35,000 beekeeping households and approximately 1.3–1.4 million bee colonies, producing about 59,000 tonnes of honey annually.
The goal is to maintain the current number of bee colonies and the level of honey production, while increasing the share of honey destined for export to around 80%. Vietnam also aims to further develop the US market and establish the EU as a new and important destination for its honey exports.
